I caught that after watching the Space Shuttle documentary. We usually leave the TV on the channel if nothing else is worth watching and his show came on. I was a little shocked I thought he was just a comedian. He kinda laid into Nick and Disney. I don’t watch CNN as a rule the Space Shuttle thing got me there.

There are pedophiles in every stratum of society, every profession, every or no religion.
I have never heard of any successful cure, although I have heard people suggest that the best way to prevent it is to encourage suppression of, and/or violence against, ALL members of the LBGTQ+ community. (Which, IF successful, would leave only HETEROSEXUAL pedophiles. Like the creeps who were pals with Jeffery Epstein, supplier of younger women for older men.)

I’ve shared this on here before - I was victim of a pedophile when I was 13 years old. No , he was not a church member or an actor, but a Boy Scout leader. I ended up an alcoholic and pill addict , which might have happened anyway, but I have my doubts. I tell this again so that if someone reading this has this secret buried inside them, you’re not alone - go get help.

Bill Maher can slam any political opinion so he probably won't be elected any time soon. He has a good way of explaining current situations and his comedic ability often helps to drive it home. Some would say that bringing up these sensitive topics like pedophilia is not always healthy but the more we are aware if it the safer our kids should be.

I dont think Bill Maher has changed, hes an old school liberal that now is seen as a moderate as society has shifted. He just decided hes done following his wallet and now uses his brain. Age and mortality thoughts does that sometimes.

As a past 12 yr old victim of this, I will say is can happen at any stratum of a society. This was a random encounter, waiting for a bus when I was a raw freshman at Bklyn Tech. No school, church, political etc involvement, just some old dirty F er grabbin some weenie.

For my experience, I was active in Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, various sports teams, and church, nothing like that ever happened - at least as far as I knew. When I was 16 one of my uncle's adult friends (late 20's) tried to hit on me. I pushed his hand off my shoulder said some choice words and stormed away. Told my uncle some time later and he didn't believe me. Told me I had to have been confused. There was no confusion.

Not young, but looked much younger than I was, I got hit on, on the bus in Montreal. I said no, my stop came up, and I got off.
In Toronto I got off the subway and was heading for Sam the Record Man when a blonde leaning against a store window asked, "Would you like to have some fun ?" I just lept walking. Later on I thought I should have said, "Sure. Got any Grateful Dead records?"
I don't know what Maher would have said twenty years ago. I don't care about his political views. I just find him an insufferable blowhard.
