Hi,
I'm quite excited to go back to finger picking after being more of a clawhammerist since the beginning of this century:
I did even play bluegrass banjo for living in the late 70s but haven't played 3 finger picking much since then.
This is my 4th YouTube upload of Soldier's Joy (3 banjo versions & 1 ukulele campanella version)
I'm just curious how I should call this mixture of finger picking styles.

Hey, some guys got their names immortalized as the developers of Scruggs Style and Seeger Style.
Call it SEPPO STYLE, and, who knows... a fifty or a hundred years from now, the Banjo HangOut may have people arguing over which way is the only PROPER way to play Seppo style!

MIke’s right. Among players, traditional and revival, there have been any number of such idiosyncratic styles over the years. All are legitimate, if unnamed..

Nice version in the video link.
The "style" is often referred to as "old time 3-finger." The player plays whatever notes that fit the melody. There are no standard fills, licks, or "rolls."
Sometimes the same sounds can be made from 2 fingers

There was a time and place when individual, idiosyncratic personal styles were the rule rather than the exception.
Just pickin' the banjo.
Nice playing, BTW.
