We're looking at the fascinating style of bluegrass banjo player Courtney Johnson this week at banjolicks.com. Courtney was a founding member of the New Grass Revival and is known for his flowing chromatic and melodic style of playing.

the first one (imo) is a signature Vassar lick--I think Tony T showed it in his melodic banjo book under Courtney's chapter

Nice I played his old style 11 when Gruhn had it during IBMA in Nashville in 2005.....
