Hi folks, thank you for providing and hosting this Site!
As a new member, I am in the process of familiarizing myself with the peculiarities of the site.
Anyway, I really miss a logout button. Or am I automatically logged out when I close the window?

I hadn't noticed that there isn't a login-log out button. I think there used to be, but if so, it was many years ago.
As I understand it, you stay logged in unless you clean out your cookies and delete all favorite sites.

You stay logged in as long as you're on your own devices. If you use a public computer, like at the library, then you have to log in. It will automatically log you off when you close your session.

There is a logout button. Click the wheel next to yourname in the upper right

on my computer the wheel next to my name is on the top left of the screen

Well, left OR right, the little wheel next to your name has LOGOUT at the bottom of the short menu which a click on the wheel exposes.

It's a gear not a wheel.
Also since I've seen it mentioned before: the button under "more" on the left is a magnifying glass, not a Q.

I knew I'd seen a log out somewhere. That's one place I didn't check. Thanks for posting. Hopefully, in the future, if the question comes up again, I'll know where to find it.

I don't see anything like a gear or wheel.
All there is are tiny grey rectangles.
When clicking the one closest to my name, the listing containing 'log out' appeared....
