I live close to Danville and Harrodsburg, KY. Does anyone know of a banjo instructor near me? I’m 50 yrs old and a basic beginner.

As said above, check out our teacher's list. You can do an advanced search and hopefully find a teacher in the state and town (or close) you live in.
