Seems like I remember in an old catalog, they advertised a banjo strap that goes around your waist and takes all of the weight off of your back, does anyone else remember this? If so, what was the name of the strap? And if you have one and would be interested in selling, please reach out!

Banjo Brothers is a bicycling company. They make great panniers. Not sure about waist straps.

A lot of people tend to make things more difficult than they really are. Take, for example, Willy Nelson's guitar strap. The manner in which the strap attaches to the guitar is common among acoustic guitarists south of the border. It wouldn't take too much to modify a strap like that so that it attaches to your belt, rather than your neck. Or, modify a cradle strap to attach to your belt.

My good friend Paul Hawthorne R.I.P, described one, that he fabricated himself great detail & illustration, in Gestalt Banjo. Although, his was a dual shoulder strap crossing in the back.
