Iv got a 2001 RB-250. What was the original head on it a low or a medium? Also what heads do you guys use. Iv also heard setting the tension at 91for a starting point.

I'd use a medium or high crown for a flathead 250.
As far as "what kind", I feel that a good ol' top-frosted Remo is the best Bluegrass head.
If you're talking DrumDial numbers, I'd start at about 88, play it-listen to it, then tighten up if you think necessary. Remember, it's easier to tighten a head than to loosen one.....you start at 91, you're about maxed out already.
