I've just looked through previous posts on this subject. Would like to know if anyone (Gracie?) has produced a performer stand for the banjo since the lasts posts were made ( 2020, 2016)? At that time people were using guitar stands for their banjos. Anyone know of any advancements in this area?
Thanks

Don't use a stand for a banjo, Margaret. Thats just asking for trouble, especially on stage. I use a stand for my other instruments, but the banjo is weighted differently and is prone to falling. I put mine in the case during breaks, or playing another instrument. That being said,... If I HAD to use a stand instead of the case, I would reluctantly use a Hercules . It is sturdier than it looks in pictures, tilts to the banjo back, and the jaws lock around the neck at the peghead.
But please use your case instead,... I've performed for almost 40 years, and I can say from experience,... it hurts to have a broken banjo neck !! The first time, it was professionally repaired, but the 2nd time, it needed a new $1500 neck. Ouch.

Ditto here - banjos need to be in the case , or your hands. I put my good banjo on a stand at a concert the other day and scratched the bolt that holds the tailpiece and maybe f-'d up the threads. Grrrr.

I think the original poster is looking for a stand to hold a banjo in playing position for performance .

Yes, Tom, thank you for clarifying that.  I am seeking a stand that used to be made by the Gracie music company.  Apparently the father (owner) of Gracie has passed away and the son was trying to find the plans fo build these so he could remake them, but nothing has come of it.  I see from older posts that some people are using a guitar standup stand for their banjo.  Wondering if they are using the acoustic guitar stand or the electric guitar stand.

Are we talking about the same stand Eddie Adcock once used, many moons ago?
