I'm wondering if anyone has tried a Collins capo, and how it compared to an Elliott. I just can't bring myself to pay the money for an Elliott but I'd like something a little smoother than my ancient Paige.
Thanks!

If you're talking about Barry, then you cannot find a better capo or gentleman to work with. Barry's work is top notch!

I've know Barry for years and have several of his capos, as well as Elliot's. In my opinion Collins Capos are sleeker, have a smaller profile, and work as good as the Elliot capos. Both are high quality products, but I prefer Barry's as he is a great guy, musician, and great friend to me over the years.

Thanks for the info.; had it in my cart last night but now it's gone. Oh, well, sounds like somebody is getting a top quality capo!

Look at the Fine Tune Capo from Shubb. Very good yolk style capo.

Or get in touch with Barry direct, and order one from him. Still might be a waiting period. I have one of his capos and they are top notch, comparable to Elliott or most any of the best out there.

This thread led me to check into Collins capos at the County Sales website.
Currently out of stock. List price $100. The photo looks like an Elliott "saddle style" capo.
Elliotts are now $200, plus or minus. I've gotten my last couple from Banjo Ben.
