I just went to the Ashokan banjo concert in upstate NY and it was spectacular. Tony Trischka did a great banjo tribute to Pete Seeger. There were so many Clawhammer players there and they were all just great. Hilary Hawke played beautifully and so smooth. I certainly got a Music History lesson in how many of the Clawhammer tunes were written....Jack

Oh hey Jack, if I'd known you were there I would have looked for you.
I did the whole weekend banjo camp. It was really strong. I think if they work out the (minor) kinks it will be fantastic next year. The classes with Tony were just phenomenal; I got a lot out of them.
All of the instructors were interviewed and played a song each on Hilary's podcast, so when that comes out in a few weeks, folks can give it a listen.

It was a lot of fun and lots of great banjo music. I don't know anything about Hilary's Podcast but maybe I'll check it out at some point. I think they need to work on the sound system as it's kinda noisey and was sometimes hard to hear the performers....jack

I Forgot to mention that Ellen (wife) and I got to meet Hilary briefly because She was really busy with all that She was doing for the show. She was very warm and nice to chat with for a minute. Tony gave me a big hug after so many years of not seeing each other. His tribute to Pete Seeger was very moving to me...Jack
