been reclaimed--I hocked mine a couple but always claimed it back--
Banjos happy as they are tend to have a weakness -they are similar to womanizers and ladies of the night--they will depart with new crowds at the drop of a hat--
Nobody claims my banjo ,if I can help it--even though it is a pain sometimes

I tried to trade my Deering Sierra for Telecaster but the music store was not interested. Seems the bluegrass trend has ran it’s course in our area. Good thing I had a backup instrument to use as trade or I wouldn’t have been able to come home with my new Tele.

... claimed? ... reclaimed? ... possessed? ... repossessed?
I'll go for possessed.
... or at the very least, considering my "playing" (?), having a mind of it's own.

Nope. But I did trade in my '77 Jake Neufeld open-back for a resonator banjo. Then bought an open-back, Orpheum No. 1 from 1915 or earlier. Finally traded it in for a '78 Jake Neufeld.

No bad how things may ever get, two things I'll not get rid of are my dog and my Staghorn!

I might sell one if things get tough.
Things would have to get pretty bad,but ultimately they are just things with a value.
I'll never get rid of my '29 conversion, though.
