Howdy folks we got any central ky pickers on here? Im an intermediate level player in Lexington ky. Id love to maybe meet up with some people, pick a little and share some thoughts. I also play guitar too.
I've only been playing banjo a couple years, all at home and self taught by ear.
So I would love to just be around some good players just to see how you go about things.
Make a little music while where at it.

I'm about 15 miles south of Lex, been here for about 10 years and haven't found anyone to pick with. All the musicians I know are pros and teach all day and aren't really excited about getting together and picking. Unfortunately I don't really play anything but banjo anymore. I'll keep an eye on this and see who shows up.

I've lived in Lexington for 17 years and only been in a few jam sessions in the whole time. Lexington is a Bluegrass wasteland. That's really strange considering what a hotbed of music it was about 30 or 40 years ago.
If you subscribe to Facebook you might be able to get in touch with Tom Adler or Frank Godbey. They live in Lexington and are rumored to have jam sessions but I'm not on Facebook so I can't say for sure. The only time I went to one of their sessions was about six years ago. I haven't heard anything from them since.

I couldn't agree more. Ive been saying the exact same thing to the wife. Im absolutely stunned at the lack of bluegrass scene here. Right here on the edge of Appalachia.
I've only lived here about 4 years so I just dont know many people in this area. Haven't had any luck finding jam sessions or anything

I live a little under an hour north west of Lexington. Kind of busy for the next few weeks but after that we could get together and try and pick some if you want it.
