On the way back to Utah from Montana, we passed through the Wind River Canyon. Breathtaking! Such a WOW factor as you wind your way down a 6 percent grade to the Canyon floor. You transverse layers of geology.

I spent about a week at field camp hiking and mapping in the Wind River Range. Stayed near Pinedale for a few days. Beautiful country that I hope to take my kids to someday on vacation.

We wandered through that area a decade or so back ...south from Fernie, BC on #93, on through Yellowstone, took in a Casper Ghosts ball game, then east/north to Gillette and east into South Dakota. A memorable trip [as much as my ol' noggin allows] and yes, very impressive country, as I find all mountains to be .... i.e. not to be confused with Manitoba's mountains: the Turtle / Riding / Duck MOUNTAINS.
