Just got a Scarlett 4i4 3rd gen, using it in Linux, wondering if anyone else does and can help with some setup issues, and monitoring. I didn't have issues with previous interface. Especially doesn't get along well with Reaper.

No longer has much controls on front, rather uses Focusrite control software; for things like inst/line; air... and controlling various settings of output, mono, headphone mix; main, and channel outs. But there is no Linux version of that control panel.

Linux/Jack recognizes device fine, but doesn't seem to like other sample rates other than 44.1. I think have to set in control panel? I also seem to get a lot of xruns even at 256 buffer size. I find above that, monitoring latency is just too much; not sure if period should be 2 or 3? I can get around that via direct monitor, but find the direct is in L/R (per 1/2 input) and mix is much weaker for of direct than from DAW. Again these seem to need to be set in Focusrite control app, which doesn't seem exist for Linux.

Any thoughts?

I did get it to work okay in Ardour without freezing (like Reaper); still got a bit of xruns... and was a pain to monitor. (I used a click, seems tracks might be slightly off sync as well?). Other than that seemed to sound fine.
