Since different jams have different people who play different songs, I have the lyrics to 200+ songs on half-sheets of paper. This approach has helped me greatly -- esp on 2nd and 3rd verses!
I want go digital now. My idea is to put "LinkeSOFT SongBook" on my laptop and use it.
That application can display (and transpose chords) for any song in a text file in "ChordPro Format".
Most of my song files don't have chords embedded, so I am looking for some place or someone who has a big collection of Bluegrass songs in ChordPro format text files. Some classic country songs would be nice too.
Is there a repository already out there?
Anyone want to send me some files?
Anyone want to collaborate on the creation of a great set of songs in ChordPro format?
Do several people want to have a team-effort on this?
Is there a better software I should be targeting?
Got any tips if you've gone down this lonesome road before?
Note: I have found a number of PDF files with many songs (with chords) that I could convert using a tool I found that outputs the ChordPro format.
