Hey everyone, just installed my K&K twin pickup system in my banjo and I'm getting NO SOUND out of my amp. Amp and cables are good, it's a fender bass man 25 amp. Nothing special but it works with all my other instruments. I am lacking a preamp but I still expected to get SOME sound from the thing. Before I go spend the money on a pre amp I figured I'd ask here first. Thanks!

My experience with K&Ks (on guitars) is that they produce enough signal for a decent volume even with no preamp.

This suggests you have a bad connection. As you have twin pickups but no signal from either, the jack socket is the obvious first suspect.

But just in case, check the jack plug is fully home in the socket. My own K&K equipped uke has a very stiff socket, and when the jack feels as if it's plugged in there is still another 1/8 inch to go.
