The bridgeless banjo, with invisible fifth string. What will Greg Rich think of next?

You can buy that banjo, with a 5th string and a bridge, for the same price...online from Guitar Center...but it may not have "sale" on the hang tag.

I bought an Ode Model D in great condition at GC for $600.
That was a sale. Flipped it for 4x.

It sure doesn't seem that many people at Guitar Center know banjos. It looks like they take in a lot of banjos on trade-ins, but the prices are all over the place. Their website always has a lot of used banjos. Some are quality instruments, and some are junk.
A few years ago, I picked up a Vega Pro (ca. 1959) at Guitar Center for $600. It had originally been listed at $1,200, which was more than I could justify at the time. When they dropped the price in half, I jumped on it. The head was very loose and the bridge was way out of position, which reinforced the notion that those guys simply don't know banjos.
