I have just purchased a Washburn B16. I am missing the nut to one tension hook. Where in this wide world can I purchase one? Also, does anyone know the thread pitch on these asian hooks?

You should post a picture. If the threads are really fine, it's probably a metric size sold by some of the ebay sellers.

Ken is right, it would probably be metric thread. There are a few vendors on eBay who sell individual hooks, but they are in China. Shipping time would be a while. Also, they sell the bracket, the nut, the bracket shoe and the bolt as a set so you would be winding up with a lot of parts you don't need. Your other alternative is a vendor called antiquesmugglers who sells two brackets and nuts.
I couldn't find anyone on eBay who only sells the nut and I doubt you will be able to find it by itself. You will probably have to get the bracket as well.

Because of the various thread pitches banjo hooks and nuts use, I only sell hooks and nuts as a set.
Post a picture of the hook and nut you need here on the forum and there is likely someone (maybe even me) that has a reasonable match.

Take one of the hooks to a hardware store and try screwing it into their selection of nuts. That should allow you to determine the specification of the thread.

If you can't find a nut that fits the one hook, you can always purchase one new hook and nut pair that go together. Several places sell them as singles. Elderly, Sullivan, Balsam Banjo Works, Stew-Mac, to name a few. Then install in a location you'll easily remember or notice, such as next to the neck or tailpiece.
When the resonator's installed, you won't see the mismatch. Out of sight, out of mind.
