i Walked out to my driveway and saw what i saw as a dead squirrel on this hot sunny day.  When i Got closer the critter perked up enough to crawl towards me and beg for help.  i Did what i Could.

Nicely done! Looks like the lil fella is on the mend!

A sparrow recently flew into my back sliding glass door with enough force to knock itself unconscious...
It woke up on my kitchen counter with bird seed and water. After relaxing a while and pooping on the kitchen drapes I figured it was ready to get back into the great outdoors!

Nice video and story. I always love those YouTube videos which show animal rescues and care.

A couple of months ago one of my cats dropped a baby male rabbit on my back doorstep. The little thing hadn't even opened its eyes yet and was clearly still nursing. It was mildly injured from my cat and was terrified. I did the best I could and warmed it up in my hand and tried to give it water or milk on the end of a Q-tip. It finally calmed down and seemed to relax and fell asleep.

I called the local animal rescue and they said they'd contact a special unit called The Bunny Brigade, which never called me. I kept the little critter warm in a hand towel in a food bowl on my kitchen table overnight, not thinking it would live through the night.

The next morning, he was still alive, but barely. I comforted it for the last hour of its life and was with him as he took his last breath. I gave the little guy a ceremony right there, because it moved me ... I burned some sage, then buried him out back under a cedar tree.

I was surprised how moved I was by that simple thing, but death is death I suppose. It's a pretty powerful thing.

Kudos for helping when and where ya can. It means something.

She just crawled out of the leaves one day,

I like it that banjo players are aware of their immediate surroundings.

We made a small drip and watered everything from dove to coyote.

Way to go.

Good to see empathy towards animals but keep in mind if they seem to be acting strangely rabies could be the cause .

In the summer, get them hydrated ASAP. At least, offer them water, not ice cold because it's too hard on their guts to warm that up to body temperature. Even snakes will come looking for a drink.

Big open flat water dish? Fill it with small stones for the bees to stand on while they drink.
I had two out one summer in the city. Could not imagine where else any little animals would find open water to drink in those days. You should haveseen the traffic jam at each dish. Even the squirrels were showing good manners to the bees.

I had put the word out locally that I was interested in adopting a senior (10+ yrs) cat.
Little did I know that I would be offered a 14(?) yr old girl with black frozen feet and1/2 her left ear frozen and broken off. She gets fresh water daily and several kinds of wet and dry cat foods.
The pain as her feet peeled must have been sheer hell. She healed up OK in less than 6 weeks. But here we are, some 8 months later. I took her in and hoped for the best, which I got.

She's a floor cat, at least when I'm around. Won't sleep on the bed with me. Doesn't know what toys are for, ignores catnip. Claws the carpets but never the furniture (that was Heidi-cat's expertise).

Do what you can. The bees in particular need all the help they can get. Reading today that 50% of the bee hives in Canada died last winter.

I saw the soup and thought, OH NO! He made squirrel soup!

My apologies for my evil thoughts!

Nice going. I found a squirrel once. I called the squirrel rescue lady, and was told he was too far gone, that he probably had eaten some poison meant for rats. Glad he was a saver.
