I've had a few of these guitars and decided to keep a couple in 2010 or so.
They'd get pulled out for company to play or when I took a notion. They always sounded good.A SC D160 with solid mahogany back and sides and an FHG-27 solid rosewood back and sides.
Never able to leave stuff alone for long I started considering scalloping the braces in these guitars, but when I reached in there during a string change yesterday I found both of them already having had their braces scalloped.
I was pleasantly surprised and am so glad I decided to keep these 2 dreadnaughts.I've lowered the 1st fret string clearance to .013" and lowered the saddle .040".
I don't usually play the mahogany 160,but lowering the nut and saddle really woke it up.
The rosewood 27 is very punchy.
