I'm trying to learn instrument repair as a hobby. My mother had an early 1970s 3/4 scale classical guitar. It was missing a tuner and had one tuner that was broken. It was so dirty you wouldn't want to touch it. It still has gouges and scratches - and I am crap at taking pictures so you might not be able to tell the "befores" from the "afters" but irl it's a remarkable improvement. Thanks to everyone who helped me in the other thread in set up/repair forum.
It had been in an attic in a cheap case with that weird black sponge styrofoam that melts into finishes - so it still looks pretty rough, but I was able to get all the black crud off.
Befores

Good for you!
Everybody who is any good at anything, had to start small SOMEWHERE.

You can use a steam iron with no steam on low setting to help remove the bridge All the glues let go at 160
I bought the special clamp for gluing bridges
Maybe share with us what tools you have access to

I currently have just about nothing, but I'm building up a stash very slowly. No clamps and I realize they're a gateway acquisition to quite a lot of tasks, so clamps should be one of the first few things I intentionally obtain.
The typical disorganized household's pool of screwdrivers, wrenches, sockets and allen keys - all with redundant specimens in the useless sizes and a lot of MIA of whatever I'm usually looking for.
I got some car polish and furniture conditioner for the guitar project - and a bag of rags.
I also just put together a bin with gloves and screwdrivers and cleaner to keep in the trunk in case I spot something useful in a trash pile.
My stepson left me a small starter dremel set when he changed from carpentry to fashion marketing.
Probably a couple things I'm forgetting but not much at the moment.

I'll add a picture of my work space - it's a small home office with not a lot of room - it currently has 2 1970s colonial revival bookshelves and an Ikea - I'm thinking of rearranging them to make one of the older heavier ones more accessible and trying to rig up some kind of Murphy desk - put some of my small tools and cleaning things and spare strings etc. in a shelf and close it up when I'm not working on an instrument.
