Thanks Sheenjack. The loss of loved ones and friends in war has affected us all. We should take this day, especially, to remember those that did not return!

Mary lives on the main drag in her small town.

We got to see the parade from her front porch.

A solemn day, but a decent little parade.

Followed by a 21 gun salute and TAPS

My dad missed Guadalcanal, due to his young age. But he took a belly full (literally) while a Marine (joined at age 17) serving on a battleship, from the Philippines to Okinawa. The war ended while he was still rehab'ing in a Hawaii hospital. Mom said he went into a bit of depression when they would not let him activate in the Korean Conflict.
