I'm writing to let you know that this year's New Mexico Banjo Camp at the Black Range Lodge will be live and in person and we're adding a second weekend of instruction. Join us April 14-17 with Alan Munde, Pete Wernick and Bill Evans or April 21-24 with Alan, Bill, Kristin Scott Benson and Riley Baugus. This is a different kind of banjo camp experience as we're small - limiting week one to 25 students and week two to 30 students and there is open time in the schedule for practicing what you've learned, follow up with a teacher, small group instruction and jamming.
All participants must be fully vaccinated and boosted. These camps are designed for all levels of players beyond true beginners.
The Black Range Lodge in Kingston, NM is an incredible location for this event with rustic yet comfortable and beautiful Southwest-style accommodations *and* they have great, healthy food.
The closest airports are El Paso, TX and Albuquerque, NM and each is about three hours away from the lodge. Programming for Week One begins with Thursday lunch on April 14 and ends with breakfast on Sunday, April 17 followed by a community Easter service for those interested in attending. We recommend that folks arrive at the lodge on Wednesday to fully enjoy the surroundings.
Programming for Weekend Two begins in mid-afternoon on Thursday, April 21 and ends with lunch on Sunday, April 24th. Camp tuition is $465 and food and accommodations are $150 to $200 per day.
Bill, Anything and everything you do is well done, effective, and productive. I am sure this will be no different. But I have to say, the significant thing about this one is Dr Banjo - Pete Wernick coming back and getting out to this level so soon after his heart attack. An while I will not be there, be assured that I will be smiling and happy for such a good sunrise in our beloved banjo community. Have fun. ken
You're absolutely correct! We're so excited to have Pete with us and his wife Joan is coming too. And Pete is very much looking forward to getting back into the swing of things too. An we do still have open student slots for both weekends - come join us in New Mexico everybody! All the best, Bill
