Good dark and early morning from cool Kingston, Ontario. It's only -16C now, but will drop to -25C with an extreme cold warning, before heading up to a balmy -16C under sunny skies. Glad it wasn't that way yesterday at 5:00 a.m. when I cleared the driveway to put out the garbage. Photo: drummer Corky Laing of West, Bruce & Laing and Mountain. Here he's in Bartholomew +3 - my first concert photos - in September '66, Loyola College, Montreal. Suits and floral ties, neat.
On this date: Born: Corky Laing, 1948; Angela Davis, 1944.
Have a marvelous Wednesday everyone. It’s clear and cold on the back porch this morning. The weather folks are predicting a classic Nor’easter for Friday into Saturday with over a food of snow and howling winds - up to hurricane force in some parts of the area.
Here’s a weathervane on an old carriage house. The large main house and the carriage house have been been converted into condo units.
Good Morning from bitter cold (-14f, -30f wind chill) Northeast Wisconsin. I decided not to go to the pool to work out this morning. Lots of schools and activities closed or starting 2 hours late. Roads are clear and dry. Supposed to get up in the mid 30f next week.
Bonjourno..... -10 C at getting up time. ... soared to -2 and just now back to -4ish, so I guess the warm spell is over. Took advantage of the hiatus to snow-blow most of the area in front of the shop door.... had to make several passes, blowing and re-blowing to get it across the lane into the field [...wouldn't do to have the town accuse me of leaving it on the roadway], but the wind was in the right direction. With that done before the town uses their "real" snowblower on the back lane I avoid having to deal with a ridge/windrow.
I think they're forecasting blizzard conditions in some of the southern parts of the province... windy enough here, but no snow falling or blowing around.
Now, iffin my garage sale ad finds me some of that wallboard paneling that was popular 50 years ago [bottoms for the unit of drawers in the trailer*] I'll be back in business. In the mean time, time for a bit of TIMTIMing.
Hope everybody has/is having/had a good day.
* = it's a mid-70s SurfSide, so at least the drawer bottoms will be "period correct" stuff.
