I recently bought a 1990 Gibson RB4...wonderful banjo by the way! It came with 4 Keith tuners...again, a great bonus! From what I gather, Beacon Banjo only offers the standard pearl buttons. Does anyone know of a good ivoroid or other button that is cut to fit the Keith's?

Contact Chris Sorenson at Companion Custom Banjos. He can make any style and color you want.

Excellent! I'll look him up. Thanks.

Greg Boyd's House of Fine Instruments will modify a button to fit the splined shaft of a Keith D-tuner. Are Keith regular tuners also splined?

I bought grained ivoroid buttons from  them, two splined for Keiths. They did not have the tops adapted for the big screw, but they offer an amber button with that feature so you could always ask.

I think Bill K. made me a set of ivoroid buttons for my Keith tuners. Of course that was a good while back. Martin Keith might be able to do it.

All good info. Apparently, they can be had and without too much effort. Again, thanks. I bought the banjo through Greg Boyd. The man knows his stuff and is a great guy to boot! I'll check with him.
