Hasn't this individual self-promoted enough over in the Bluegrass playing forum? Nothing personal, but maybe some boundaries could be drawn here by the Mods.

Does this really belong in the Shopping Advice forum?

There may be someone here looking for instruction who is unfamiliar with the other site.

There may be somebody here who hasn't seen the other promos.

I was told that what I was bringing was best suited here. By a moderator in fact. If it's not for you that's fine. But plenty self promote here. There's no crime.

Personally, and I realize everyone is different, but I want to see more from him. He is a great player that played with Michael Cleveland. That is about as high cotton as you can get. Michael is playing a lot with bela now and I don't don't see Bella on here offering anything.

I love to hear from players of this level. They have education insights, ears, and abilities that most do not have. One of the reasons that I, and I am sure many others come to the hangout is to learn more about playing. In the past we have had some great players that left because of a less than welcoming environment. While they were here they contributed a great deal. So again, and this is just my opinion, I hope John Mark does great here and spends some time. I can only learn from him.

Plus, I love hearing him play when he posts his playing. And in his lessons he does a  great of demoing, slowing down, and offering tab and often he shows how folks like Sonny, J.D. and Earl did it. Gooood stuff!

i concur ,,JMB is one of the best young pickers around these days,,not because he is from north carolina,,(meaning in this state you gotta be something special to stand out) because there are so many good pickers around here..but he is a great guy too.

This falls under the category that I heard all my life, " If you can't say nothing nice,  say nothing at all " Food for thought !  Life is to short for this type of junior high school mentality. Grow up !  I'm for anybody that is here to help any individual learn or improve their banjo playing skills, and if they can make a few dollars by doing so, more power to them. Just my 2 cents worth.

Honestly, I have been shopping for lessons. Lord knows I can use some.
I’ve looked at several but have not reached out to anyone.
Not yet, but that’s probably going to change very soon.

There is nothing "rude" in my post, I wasn't trying to keep anyone from purveying their services on this site. My point was that there is a BG playing advice section, which is chock-full of frequent profferings from this same quarter. It's pretty hard to miss. If people feel it needs to be over here as well, fair enough, there's no need to get one's undies in a twist.
