rickhayes Thanks for your comment. Yes, I just changed the strings. The Gold Tone Carlin models (BC-350 and CC-Carlin12) have a 12" head and a wide 1-3/8" nut, which support wound strings and deeper tone. Soon, I'll be receiving a Carlin12 tricked out, in several ways, for low tunings with wound strings. These go well all the way down to octave tuning, and in-between. They sound great in standard range, too. But my interest is what they can do in lower ranges. If I like the Carlin12 mod, I'll include it on my retail site banjocrazy.com.
