There have been rumors flying for a while about Stelling Banjo. Here is a email I got from Geoff on December 30. It is good news and should stop the rumors and give the status.
Hi Ken,
We were planning to quit and retire on Dec. 22nd, but the deal to sell fell apart at the last minute and we are now just waiting till we go back to work on Jan. 10th. One employee and I will try to make a limited number of banjos for 2022 and see how it goes from there. We will also do as many repairs as possible.

Glad to hear that more banjos will be coming out of Geoff's shop!
Will this do anything to help stabilize the crazy prices we have seen on used Stelling banjos?

He did not make that public and I did not ask. I told him the rumors swirling on the hangout and had asked him the status of Stelling banjos. He has been a long time outstanding banjo builder and contributor to the banjo and as such, I respect his privacy and the privacy of anyone that spoke with him about the business of Stelling Banjo. Understanding what? I asked, you answered. I take no offense at your response.
Stelling banjos are well known for their quality. I've played a few that I liked very much. I was curious who might seek to take up the mantle and carry on the tradition Stelling has set.
