Looking at buying a John Copley 5 string banjo for $400 in original case ...approx. built in 2005. Original owner selling because it sits in a closet , he never learned to play . My question (a) is this a fair price ? (2) Did John Copley build these banjos or did he assemble them from imported parts ? Thanks for any info...I couldn't find specifics online regarding my questions

He makes quality insturments from the look of it. Hes based out of australia.  I would imagine $400 is a good price, even if he uses imported parts, you cant get an imported banjo from goldtone for that. A  lutheir assembled banjo even if its from imported parts would be better than most cheap banjos you can buy at that price, but as always, please post pictures for the most accurate info.
