Dear banjo lovers,

All winter I've been beavering away on a new art deco-style flange to match my beautiful "Deco Vox" banjo, which was custom made in 1995 by one of my banjo heroes, Brad Roth.

I did a posting about this banjo last year... banjohangout.org/archive/362569

I'm real happy with the way it turned out, and I hope you will like it too.

And Brad, if you are reading this, I especially hope that YOU will like it! (But don't worry, I saved your old flange just in case!)

Beautiful. Imaginative. Unique.

I love art deco, love alternatives to the Gibson standard flange, and would love to see the peghead and entire fingerboard.

Amazing work, I imagine you could only play it while wearing black tie and smoking a cigarette through an two foot long holder!

Your flange cloud design demands that you perform "Nuages" on it every time you play it in public. If you typically name your banjos as I do mine, I would suggest that one! --Cjazz

Some great ideas here, thanks!

Ivor, do you have a lead on any extra-long cigarette holders? They seem to be kind of hard to find here in Canada what with all the anti-smoking campaigns.

But a couple of years ago while walking around Picadilly area of London, I chanced upon a lane full of tailors selling bespoke smoking jackets much like this one...

...and I think it is exactly what I need to wear when playing my banjo!

So I look forward to returning to London after the pandemic is over!

And, oh, yes--- any chance you could spot me two thousand quid, old man?

Stunning banjo..do you have the house to go with it?

guitarbanjoman - Posted - 04/26/2021:  18:19:23

Well, maybe!

Our friends from here in Niagara sold their house and moved to NS where they bought a house AND a cottage AND put some money in the bank!

They moved to Parker’s Cove..? Know it?

I do..Been there several times. Sometimes the sun doesn't shine till noon..It can be foggy there. That said, Parkers cove is beautiful, and the Annapolis Valley over the mountain is a real treat. Houses going up here now.. Banjos not so much. i like the comparison to M. Monroe!
