This is a very nice 1979 Gold Star archtop from Japan. As many of you know theses early Gold Stars are very nice Mastertone clones with excellent craftsmanship. And more importantly it sounds great. I switched to clawhammer and now prefer an open back. A nice OME, ODE, Vega or Deering long with tone ring and truss rod would be ideal.
Bump with price reduction. This banjo sounds great so if you’re looking for a killer bluegrass banjo at a modest price this is it. As most of you know these early Gold Stars are not the same as the newer China made versions. I’m the 2nd owner and this one has soul.
Bump. I also have a fair to good 1895ish SS Stewart American Princess to sweeten any trade deal for a long neck open back. It’s not perfect and has a few issues but it’s definitely playable. Would also consider a Gibson RK 180. I can send you as many detailed pics as you want. Happy Weekend!
Hi Justin - I’ve sent you 2 responses to your initial message and a separate IM to your account with no response. Are you getting my messages? I have plenty of additional pics and can send as many and of anything in particular you want.
Hey All - I think my add expires in June so this may be my last bump for a bit. Please tip your bar tender and remember that most regrets in life aren’t about the mistakes you’ve made but rather the opportunities you passed up. Peace!
