Hello everyone! I have a couple of beautiful banjos that were given to me by my stepfather and banjo builder Jerry Reilly. One is very beautiful and prized with hand laid abalone. There's a senorita banjo as well and a mandolin type instrument. I would love to put them in the hands of a collector where it could be truly loved and appreciated instead of just stored but not sure where to start.

List them (with plenty of photos) in the classified section of this site. Then post a links to those listings in the Swap Shop forum.

Thank you so much for your responses. I will list them but not quite sure what to charge. The fancy one could be worth several thousand. Is there anyone in the southern California area that I can take them too for appraisal?

Post some pictures here, and you'll get a whole bunch of appraisals without going anywhere or spending any money.

Just ask what it is worth to you & if someone wants it--they will buy it . Not a great idea to ask posters on BH because many folks will quote you very low because they want to buy for resale :)

Please give us an example of that happening, My belief is that the members on BHO are normally honest in their opinions.

Most folks on BHO do not buy and resell to make $$. For one thing, there’s not much to be made. For another, everyone can see the answers; disagreements are not uncommon.
