It's the 1 Dec so am suggesting tunes with a Christmas theme. It's a strange year - not everyone will be celebrating with loved ones so let's keep the theme broad. Sad tunes, happy tunes...post on this thread.

Jingle Bells By James Lord Pierpont.

A Great American Classic.

I meant, just post anything with a Christmassy theme. Look forward to hearing your posts.

Thanks for the inspiration, Carrie! I only had time to shoot a "shortie", but this has always been one of my favorite Christmas tunes - Vince Guaraldi sure put some beautiful & distinctive chord changes in there. Merry & happy wishes to all !!

Great and rich idea Carrie !
Clearly a strange year and it could be nice to share some good vibes

Hi everyone,
for some reason, if I had to think about a christmas song, I think about this one.
I guess because of "God" and "Child" ??

Thank you Carrie for this thread :-)

Lovely Thomas - it's a great tune and love the mellow sound.

Great Playing Thomas... very sweet and relaxed, so close to Eddie's style!
I'm sure he's making great music up there...

Wonderful tune and rendition, you made my Xmas, Bob!

Thank you, Marco!! I rushed it out quickly and later figured out a better chord voicing for the 2nd & 4th chords in the bridge section. The song is so pretty & Vince Guaraldi's solo chorus on the original instrumental version really shows his style...someday, I hope to practice enough to get near that level.

Hi my dear friends
I didn't find inspiration in doing an Xmas song arrangement so I just post here a tune i love very much, is a violin piece by the great John Hartford, seems a sort of Bach prelude played by an appalchian fiddler!
I palyed on tenor banjo GDAE tuning
hope you enjoy
best wishes to all of you!

The smell of coffee, sunrise though the clouds and beautiful banjo music, doesn’t get much better.

banjerpicker47 Hey Larry thanks for your comment - it is indeed a fun tune and sounds great on tenor and 5string banjo.
