Is there a standard placement of these five double-thick flange pieces on the 28 hooks? The other 23 flange pieces are a single thickness. Pretty sure these are to help center the banjo as it rests into the resonator.

I'm only guessing , but I'd think one on each side of the neck , one under the tailpiece , and the other two centered between on each side .....As I say , just guessing .....

Thanks Fred, I've seen some online photos...where the two "centering-flange" pieces, closest to the neck-heel, are attached either 3 or 4 hooks away from the neck....similar for placement on either side of the tailpiece. Just curious if there is/was a factory standard...before I consider the task of installing these individual flange pieces on all 28 hooks!
Thanks, Brian

There is no "standard" except to even out stresses on the resonator. Also, you can't place one under the tailpiece, there is no bracket to secure it to.
