I've posted lots of photos over in building, setup and repair. Here's the dowel stick.
Vega dating seems really complicated, but I know this has to be 1910-1919, and the sn probably makes this pre 1914.
Can anyone help me hone in on a more accurate date? (People say Mugwumps is wrong on some things?)
And, it is a Style S, but doesn't say it on the stick. Is that unusual, does it help date in anyway?
It is 10 1/4 inch pot.

You could reasonably date the banjo by the serial number, not the patent numbers.
27149 would be late 1910 or possibly early 1911.
I believe this is the most current Vega serial number chart:banjohangout.org/archive/322998

I own # 27014 , Tubaphone 5 string with flowerpot peghead. I had decided that 1910 is the most likely year of manufacture, for what it's worth.
This banjo was sourced in Vancouver from long term family ownership.
It's a beauty !
