I'm only just learning banjo Scruggs style and have a couple of songs down pretty well, Cripple Creek and Banjo in the Hollow, just lots more practice to get my speed up to somewhere recognizable for Foggy Mountain Breakdown. I've been playing now for about 6 weeks and callouses are just starting to build.

My little dilemma is I absolutely love Darling Corey (Darlin' Cora) which is a clawhammer or 2 finger style song.
Everywhere I've looked all I've been able to find closest instruction video is the 2 finger style version.
Would learning this be detrimental to my progress in Scruggs style learning or will I basically have to start from fresh learning 2 finger just for this song?
Thanks
Theo

Go for it, Theo. It won’t hurt your three finger style.

I agree with Chuck. Go for it...would be fun and you can still work on your 3 finger style with other songs.

It shouldn't hurt your 3 finger besides Earl started out playing 2 finger. If anything it may help it. Once you learn the song 2 finger you may later be able to figure out a way to play it 3 finger also.

Fantastic, that's great.
I appreciate the advice from everyone.
I'll get into it as soon as FMB is "sort of OK"
