Greetings. As the title states, I need this CD. I bought the book, I thought I was getting the CD but it was not included.

Previous thread on this topic (banjohangout.org/archive/147323) suggests ordering from EarlScruggs.com - Unfortunately, that site says they are no longer taking orders.

Does anyone know where I can get the CD, please?

Thanks!

David Berchtold

You can find the album on YouTube. - Earl Scruggs and the 5-String Banjo, I would send you my unused copy for free because I have never used it, but I don't want to risk the contact with the virus.

I was able to download the video from Youtube and save it in my banjo folder. No problem. It's worthwhile.

I have an original album with book, pretty good little thrift store found I had.

It’s worth a listen just to hear Earl tell you to practice.

Not to be too OT, but I had the book, and hung around outside a stage door in an alley in Boston about 42 years ago to get him to sign it.

That’s his signature in my avatar. Kindest regards, Earl Scruggs.

But the book disappeared a few years ago, probably in a “clearing
out” frenzy.

Ken/kmwaters,

What steps did you go through to save a video from youtube to your computer?

It seems to work sporadically at best when I’ve tried.

I loaned mine way back in the beginning of the 70s....the guy moved away and took it with him and never let me know where he was......same with my Charles River Boys original Beetle record album. be careful who you lend things to. also I lent a few recordings to a BG station locally....the DJ disappeared with them and the station went off the air.

I use something called WinX Youtube Downloader. It has been safe to (use as far as I know). Pretty straightforward. Never had any problems. Obviously, comply with all copyright laws, etc.

Ok folks, Thanks all for the youtube links. I must admit the youtube is of limited use to me.

1) There is no announcement of what track he's on,

2) it's impossible to just go to a track that 's listed in the Book.

If it's not too much to ask, does anyone have a link to ANYTHING that's broken down by track?

Thanks,

David

The book tells you what track to use. Can't you get a pencil and paper and write down the time when each lesson is at as you follow along? There is a list of the tracks on the YouTube description below the title. Click on "Show More" Or you can order the CD.

I was in the same situation and checked my local library system. The library had the book with CD. That solved the problem for me.

You can get the CD from the Scruggs museum for $32.95
