I listened with my eyes closed and didn't even know when he switched banjos. The sound was that close.

I could tell more of a difference up the neck, but they all did sound pretty similar.

The sound comes mainly from the player, more than from the banjo. The listeners don't hear that differences we players feel from different banjos.

My choice with eyes closed was # 1 the Gold Star no tone ring prototype & would buy one if they were ever marketed. Thanks Russ for posting.
