Hey guys,
I am looking at these mics for the bluegrass gospel band, and would these work for instrument use too? (Banjo, guitar, mandolin)

Thanks!

In Jesus,
Jonathan

I purchased a couple of the XM8500's to cannibalize for some experiments and was amazed at how well they are made.  I can tell you that they compare favorably to a Shure SM58 sound-wise and work well for general purpose PA mics.  The SM58 is what you'll find used in a large majority of utilitarian PA work, so the XM8500s will be totally acceptable for that work at about 20% of the cost.  They are a "best buy" for a dynamic mic in my opinion.
