Forgot about this tune and remembered it again last night. Recently finished this low bass 6-string banjo and actually was what led me to remember this tune again as I started playing part of the melody on it.
I have this banjo strung with the Aquila Alabastro guitar set, allowing me to tune it down to D, or dDADF#A (gGDGBD relative). I originally built a low bass gourd banjo strung in the same fashion, and wanted to try it with a normal banjo set up as I had the rim set aside, eventually to make a neck for it. It could also be strung to normal pitch, using a regular Nylgut set with the wound fourth string from the Minstrel set for the low G, which I might play around with later on.

Nice banjo, Noah. And an interesting tune, well played as always.

Thanks, Bill!
Here's the background on this tune as told by Tony McManus, one of the sources I learned it from: youtu.be/WNDAIuJvf5U
