Along the same lines, here is a mislabeled "Gibson" "Prewar" 1928 "Granada." About the only thing from 1928 is the $300 shoe bracket rim. Looking at the description suggests the whole Ad might be a scam. Yikes!!!!
I was given these 2 banjos yesterday. I am a guitarist with no banjo experience. I would like to get these to someone who will play them. Obviously i'd like to sell them but I have no idea what they are worth ( if anything). Any help in identifying these and finding a place to sell them would be greatly appreciated.
James, you should start a fresh topic in Collectors Corner or Swap Shop with info and photos about your banjos. With your photos post a Classified ad here. The fee to BHO for a successful sale is miniscule. You don't need to pay until you sell.
First question any reader is going to ask is are they 4 string or 5 string banjos.
I have a friend who purchased a 1928 TB-Granada and converted it with a 5-string neck. He took the tenor tension hoop and filed down the "ears" on either side of the neck. He used gold spray paint to cover the filing marks. I swear you could not tell it wasn't original! Now maybe with a magnifying glass you could see the modification but the average person would never notice it. As always, BUYER BEWARE!
