Not that exact one but I tried a single piezo of the same style that I got for 99 cents on Amazon. It seemed to work well enough. Not great sound but with some EQ massaging it worked well enough and sounded like a banjo. It seemed to amplify the low end more than the high and note separation was not as clear as with a microphone.

After using it for a couple weeks the solder broke and the wire disconnected from the sticky piezo so it stopped working.

I've never compared it to other piezos so I don't know if it's superior to the name brand piezos. But my personal experience is that it doesn't sound as good as the Jones/Hatfield or a SM57 microphone.

For the price it's a cheap experiment. If it doesn't work well, you're not out more than a couple beers.

Cheers.

Yes I tried a single years ago and it wasn’t that good... (not in a Banjo) my mate has put this one in his guitar and said it was alright but not properly road tested it.
I have to admit I do have a SM57, it’s great when the sound it set up right... I haven’t played on stage for a few years now but when I did it was always my banjo/ mic that was the problem... have considered doing some open mics locally but don’t think I can bare the faff of it...
I shall ponder some more.

I used to use a home made version with a single piezo, worked ok.
Sticking 3 large piezos on your head may dampen your sound when not plugged in.

Not much but the phase cancellation and comb filtering can make anything sound pretty terrible.
