Is it easy to set up a tenor banjo to play with CGBD plectrum tuning?



Just swap out the strings?

Yes. This is exactly what I do. My gauges are 12/15/22w/28w, but that's fairly light. You can also just buy the D'Addario tenor set, 09/16/23w/30w, and swap in a 13 for the first string. Works great.

youtube.com/watch?v=2yMotTA-F-gI came across a banjoist called Craig Colby on youtube - he is playing tenor but says he is playing 'in plectrum turning'.  Is that the case? If so I can't tell the difference!  Anyway, I love the way he plays with all those runs and 'twiddly' bits.  (That's a technical term).
