Is it easy to set up a tenor banjo to play with CGBD plectrum tuning?

Just swap out the strings?

Yes. This is exactly what I do. My gauges are 12/15/22w/28w, but that's fairly light. You can also just buy the D'Addario tenor set, 09/16/23w/30w, and swap in a 13 for the first string. Works great.

Yes, but if you play chord melody you're going to run out of frets.

HaHa thanks guys!

I'll try to keep it in the first two boxes.

youtube.com/watch?v=2yMotTA-F-gI came across a banjoist called Craig Colby on youtube - he is playing tenor but says he is playing 'in plectrum turning'.  Is that the case? If so I can't tell the difference!  Anyway, I love the way he plays with all those runs and 'twiddly' bits.  (That's a technical term).
