Take you down to Rio with this one, the classic by Jobim that even though I must have heard it a thousand times, still feels like one of the most beautiful tunes ever.

Wave

Very tasty, Laurence. The uke's voice is perfect for "Wave." Makes you want to buy an airline ticket. And I'm sure "The Girl From Ipanema" would also sound great (if you take requests.)

Damn Lawrence, your phrasing and feel is out of this world -- and that Uke sounds great -- I love Nylon strings. By the way is that Thumb pick you play with Plastic or what? If you don't mind my asking. I really enjoy what you do. So musical!! Eddy

Thanks Paul, as always. I think Ipanema would be a good fit on the uke as well. Not sure if I would want a steady diet of bossa nova but when you're in the mood - there's nothing quite like it.

Excuse me while I get back to my pina colada...

Wow thanks Eddy - I would rather have good phrasing and feel than just about anything!

It is a BlueChip thumb pick which has a metal band and some kind of fancy composite material for the blade - like plastic but a lot harder, I think.

Laurence, you've built a splendid impro on that bossa!

Brings back memories of a recently departed friend of mine.
Lived in Brazil for a year, working in a hospital.
She was already one heck of a musician before she got there, but, in her off-duty hours, she hung out with the local pickers, and came back able to play Bossa Nova as well as anybody I've ever heard.

You do a darn good job of it, too.

Smooth playing Laurence. I was gonna take notes but there were too many of them.

Great stuff Laurence! I’ve been trying some uke lately. You’re a terrific inspiration

Thank you Marco, Mike Rick and Bruce!
Good to hear you are giving the uke a go Bruce. Four fingers - four strings - what could possibly go wrong?
