Now that I've decided on the pickup (EMG ACB 4/6, and will order it when the credit card is rested) I'm looking for recommendations for a small stage amp. I have a Polytone Taurus Elite and a GenzBenz Shenandoah but I'd like a smaller unit to carry but one which has volume and clarity.

Thanks for any help.

It seems to me that the size of the amp depends upon the size of the room and audience. I use a Fishman Loudbox mini which works well for me in all the venues I've played in so far, but they are all smaller rooms with a maximum of 75 people who are listening and not talking, socializing, drinking, eating, etc. When I play banjo, it is through a microphone. My guitar and mountain dulcimer have built in pickups.

I use the Fishman Loudbox Mini as well. Either that or the artist would fine for you. But like kwl mention it all depends on the venue. But bare in mind the Loudbox Mini does have a D.I. XLR out put to plug directly into the sound system assuming you have one. Its a killer little box and has gotten me through a LOT of gigs. hope this helps!
