The Manhattan Minstrel Eddy Davis playing a 1951 song by Monk. There is a wonderful recording of this tune by the great Jazz Clarinetist "Pee Wee Russell". The album was produced and arranged by the Jazz Valve Trombonist Marshall Brown. I use to play lots of jobs with Marshall and other members of the Condon Clan. Davis is playing on his Custom OME 12" head - 17 fret Tenor Banjo.
This is me playing Monk's "Ask Me Now" and then Monk's version, so you can see if I got it right. Eddy
