What a surprise I had when I was looking through the input presets on my new Allen & Heath Qu-Pac mixer and came across one for the banjo! The presets configure gain and parametric EQ as a good starting point. Lots of microphone presets too but finding a banjo preset just made my day. It actually sounded good with my Goldtone ABS-C mic too.

That is good news. The A&H device looks nice and compact. Expanding by CAT5E seems a little antiquated. CAT6 is current standards.

Since this is being used as a small gig setup expansion is not a thought at the moment. The Qu-32 on the other hand uses the dSnake remote boxes. Very neat installation.

A bit off-topic, perhaps, but my own search for a banjo preset, in a different context, only brought up a now long obsolete multi-effect processor that had one integrated. And that happened only after some ten years of searching.

I wanted to give my electric tenor guitar a tenor banjo voice, somehow. But banjo presets generally are as rare as hen's teeth, really. And tenor banjo presets are non-existent altogether.

I tried for samples, footpedals and so on. Nothing going. At. All. So, dear OP: praise yourself extremely lucky. You just hit upon a speck of gold dust!

Finally, if anyone else reading this has ever come across a foot pedal that includes a banjo preset (or something else that turns electric guitar sound into banjo sound), please reveal yourself.
