This is Eddy Davis & Conal Fowkes performing a Concert in France. On another thread was discussed learning some Duke Ellington Songs. On this video at minute marking 1:20 is Black Beauty by Duke with words by me. -- at minute 34:00 is the songs All Too Soon and Azalea.
I can supply a lead sheet if desired. Eddy

By the way on my banjo on these Ellington songs I am using my MUTE as usual.

A Fantastic concert from you both Eddy......very special.

I would love a sheet for Ellingtons Azalea, and give it a go in a few days.

Salute my friend

Thanks for the sheet Eddy

I wonder why I'm always so impressed by this duo, or better quartet...two players and two singers. It's not only a matter ot artistry, instrumental technique, perfect dynamics, sophisticated repertoire etc. They essentially seem born to play and sing together, doing it in absolute relax, even when the audience beats on 1 and 3...! heartheart

I can't get enough of Azalea by you and Conal Eddy.......its so good. I'm going to start learning the lyrics right now.

Well, that is an hour of heaven.

davidcava - Posted - 01/10/2019:  14:54:30

Did you ever have chance to play with Ellington Eddy?

davidcava - Posted - 01/10/2019:  15:01:41

Any chance we can get the sheet for "All too soon" Eddy? I really love the ballads, and I'm sort of on an Ellington kick. Reading about him, and the way he wrote best at deadlines and such. Love your youtube of this one on banjo.

David -- you asked -- you received. Eddy

Greenmeat - Posted - 01/10/2019:  20:22:10

ATTENTION ---- The lead sheet that I put up for "All Too Soon" by Duke Ellington had ONE NOTE WRONG. 5 bars before the ending -- the last note in the bar (At the end of the line) should be F ---- NOT an A. Eddy

davidcava - Posted - 01/11/2019:  03:58:05

Thanks Eddy

Greenmeat - Posted - 01/13/2019:  20:23:28

Nobody cares for "All Too Soon" -- I guess. I have hundred's of Ellington tunes. But I guess this is enough. Eddy

davidcava - Posted - 01/14/2019:  05:52:02

I'll be working on it soon Eddy. I want to memorize the lyrics first. I'll have something up in a few days. Never enough Ellington!
