The Manhattan Minstrel Eddy Davis playing and singing a song written for a 1944 film called "Laura". It was written by David Raksin and Johnny Mercer. It was a BIG HIT by "Spike Jones". If you search deep into this youtube channel you can find MY "Spike Jones Band" performing this song along with a whole show of other favorites. Davis is playing on his Custom OME 12" head - 17 fret Tenor Banjo.
Please try this song -- it is one of the great songs. Eddy

I love it Eddy. I'm going to start working on it tomorrow.

I have always enjoyed this tune. My introduction to came via the Charlie Parker With Strings record. Thanks, Eddy!

Thanks Rudy and Happy Holidays -- You can't beat Parker with Strings -- I find it one of the best written tunes in the Pop Song business. I love the way it is one continuous modulation thru-out. I trust all is going well for you. Eddy

Nice arrangement. I didn't know there were words written for this tune, as the only version I have listened to was by Percy Faith. Beautiful melody.
