Hi! I just got my first tenor banjo and I love it! Have played five string open back for some years now, so not completely new to banjo. Can you recommend me some good listening? I am really fond of swing jazz, but open for everything.

Look no further than the past threads in this forum Stian. Congrats on your tenor! I love the tenor too, and swing is where it's at.....it's got to swing.

My favorite Tenor players in no particular order are Eddy Davis, Tyler Jackson, Johnny Baier, Paul Erickson, and Steve Caddick. You'll find a ton of Eddy's videos here on BHO and the others can be found on You Tube. Enjo

Good choices. I’d include Don Vappie, too.

I should have known I'd leave out some great players and Don certainly is one along with an old friend Stephen DiBonaventura and Mike Kuehn

Stian,
There are (and were) many fine tenor banjo artists. Maurice Bolyer of Canada is a great name from the past and you can find his music on YouTube. John Cali, Paul Miller and Dan McCall might be tougher to find, but they were all giants on the tenor. If you ever get a plectrum banjo, there's a whole treasure trove of great artists yet to be explored.

My old buddy Tim Allan is my favourite tenor player for all round musicality, , but for jazz playing I like Steven DiBonaventura, Johnny Weiss and Paul Erickson—- I got a chance to hear these guys right up close at the last Allfrets in Buffalo. Wowser!

These guys are all so amazing that if we didn’t have Buddy Wachter batting for the plectrum team, they’d kill us every time...

One of the best, of course, was Harry Reser, and it's fairly easy to find his stuff wven though he's no longer with us. Ray Smeck also played a bit of tenor banjo.
